Azerbaijan, San Marino sign MoU

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of San Marino as the Azerbaijani FM Elmar Mammadyarov has met with a delegation led by San Marino’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Nicola Renzi.
The sides noted the importance of holding regular high-level meetings for further strengthening of political and economic relations between the two countries.
They noted that trade relations between Azerbaijan and San Marino do not meet the potential of the two countries and exchanged views on the opportunities for further deepening of this cooperation. The Ministers underlined the importance of direct contacts between business circles of the two countries and holding business forums in order to promote economic and trade relations in this regard.
The Ministers also discussed the cooperation within the international organizations. Minister Elmar Mammadyarov briefed his counterpart about capital Baku's bid to host Expo 2025.
Highlighting the negotiation process on the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, FM Mammadyarov noted that the conflict must be resolved within the internationally recognized borders, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan based on the requirements of the UN Security Council resolutions.
The Ministers also exchanged views on prospects for cooperation in a number of areas, including in agriculture, humanitarian, tourism, and sport.
