TYAN Exhibits NVIDIA Pascal GPU-Powered Server Platforms for HPC at GTC

May 9, 2017

San Jose, Calif., May 9, 2017 – TYAN, an industry-leading server platform design manufacturer and subsidiary of MITAC Computing Technology Corporation, will be showcasing their latest GPU-optimized platforms. A pair of 4U GPU servers will be on displaying, including support for NVIDIA Pascalbased Tesla GPU accelerators. These servers will be showcased at GPU Technology Conference in San Jose, Calif., through May 11.

TYAN’s FT76-B7922 is the industry’s only Quad Socket Xeon E7 4800/8800 v4 server platform with both 96 DIMM slots and support for 4x NVIDIA Tesla P100/P40 GPU accelerators. This high-performance platform is designed for both scale-up (fat node) and scale-out (many-core computing). With 1:1 CPU to GPU ratio, the FT76-B7922 provides a high price/performance and performance/watt for HPC community that both needs CPU and GPU intensive computing workloads.

The FT77C-B7079 supports up to 8x NVIDIA Tesla P100/P40/P4 GPU accelerators with 2x Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4 processors and is designed for large-scale GPU cluster deployments. With a 2:1 oversubscription of each x16 root port, the FT77C-B7079 architecture lends itself to high amounts of CPU to GPU bandwidth across pairs of GPU accelerators and is ideal for embarrassingly parallel workloads such as BLAST searches, brute force cryptography, parallel rendering, large scale facial recognition, and numerical weather prediction workloads.

“With HPC growth being driven by big data and high performance data analysis, TYAN’s latest GPU computing platforms can satisfy the challenges of heavy computing workloads and enable outstanding performance in these new environments, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep neural network applications,” said Danny Hsu, Vice President of MiTAC Computing Technology Corporation’s TYAN Business Unit. “Incorporating NVIDIA’s  Tesla P100, Tesla P40 and Tesla P4 GPU accelerators allows TYAN to offer our customers the power to accelerate both artificial intelligence and high performance computing workloads.”

TYAN GPU Computing Platforms:

  • 4U/4-GPU FT76-B7922 – Quad-socket Intel Xeon processor E7-8800/4800 v4-based platform with support for up to 4x NVIDIA Tesla GPU accelerators, 96x DDR4 DIMM slots, and up to 8x SFF hot-swap SAS 12Gb/s, or SATA 6Gb/s devices.
  • 4U/8-GPU FT77C-B7079 – Dual-socket Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v4-based platform with support for up to 8x NVIDIA Tesla GPU accelerators, 24x DDR4 DIMM slots, and up to 10x LFF/SFF hot-swap SATA 6Gb/s devices.
  • 2U/4-GPU TA80-B7071 – Dual-socket Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v4-based platform with support for up to 4x NVIDIA Tesla GPU accelerators, 16x DDR4 DIMM slots, and up to 8x SFF hot-swap SAS/SATA 6Gb/s and 2x internal SATA 6Gb/s devices.
  • 1U/3-GPU GA80-B7081 – Dual-socket Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v4-based platform with support for up to 3x NVIDIA Tesla GPU accelerators, 16x DDR4 DIMM slots, and up to 4x SFF hot-swap SAS 12Gb/s, or SATA 6Gb/s devices.
