A total of AMD 4.3 billion per year will be allocated for the salaries of 700 employees of the new patrol service, Armenian deputy justice minister Kristina Grigoryan said on Wednesday at the parliament.

According to her, for this purpose, it is planned to form a separate fund. 

She noted that AMD 3.3 billion is planned to be allocated from the state budget for the purchase of cars, weapons, and special means. 

In turn, Armenian parliament vice president Vahe Enfiajyan noted that AMD 8.4 billion from this amount are planned to be allocated from the state budget. 

According to the MP, such expenses are inappropriate amid the coronavirus pandemic and the economic crisis.

Enfiajyan believes that these funds could be spent on supporting vulnerable segments of the population and business. At the same time, the deputy explained that he supports the reform of the law enforcement system since it is really necessary.
