New OnePlus Nord with Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 SoC may launch soon
It's just been a little over a week since BBK-owned smartphone brand OnePlus launched a new mid-range smartphone — Oneplus Nord — in a new series and it seems that we may see another handset in this series soon.
As per a report by XDA Developers, evidence has been found that suggests that the Chinese smartphone brand is set to launch “at least” one smartphone that is going to come powered by Qualcomm’s new 5G Snapdragon 690 processor.

The report claims that the latest version of OxygenOS 10.5 for the OnePlus Nord had multiple references to an upcoming OnePlus handset with the codename “Billie.” “In the OxygenOS Settings APK, we discovered multiple calls to a method called “isSM6350Products.” This method checks the model of the device and returns true if the model name matches “BE2025”, “BE2026”, “BE2028”, or “BE2029,” says the report.
The “SM6350” tag is part number for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 SoC as per Qualcomm’s websites and these model names are therefore said to be the names of the future OnePlus handsets that are likely to run this chipset.
There is no confirmation on whether or not a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 processor powered Oneplus Nord is happening but if it does, it could probably be the one that company’s co-founder Carl Pei hinted about coming to the US later this year. There are very high chances of this handset coming to India as well. However, we will have to wait and see as it is a new smartphone series and how OnePlus plans to position it to the consumers.
