Library News: Week of March 8, 2021

The Nobles County Library, 407 12th St., Worthington, is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. The Adrian Branch Library, 214 Maine Ave., Adrian, is open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. Friday.

Winter Reading Program: The Winter Reading Program is nearing the end. If you’re off to a good start but aren’t quite finished yet, keep up the good work! Participants must be 16 or older, finish reading 12 books (or audio books/e-books) and return their completed punch card by March 31 to choose a prize. All participants are entered into the grand prize drawing on April 1.

Find something new: There are new shelves by the front desk just for new adult books, new DVDs and new audiobooks. New children’s books are in the divided bin in the Children’s Room. New materials are added each week.

Book Club: All are welcome to join book club discussions. Contact the library to participate in the Zoom call. The next book club meets at 7 p.m. March 29 to discuss “A Gentleman in Moscow” by Amor Towles.

  • Thursday: After-School Program for Grades K-5, until 4:45 p.m.

  • March 15: Wii U for Grades 5-9, after school until 4:45 p.m.

Expanded hours begin March 15

  • Starting March 15, the Nobles County Library in Worthington will return to normal hours: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Meanwhile, the Adrian Branch Library will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

  • Please continue to distance six feet from non-family members and wear a mask if able.

  • Hand sanitizer is available.

New Books for Children: “A Day on the Farm with The Very Hungry Caterpillar”, “Go, Go, Tractors!”, “National Geographic Kids - Wild Vet Adventures”, “Treemendous” and “Peppa Pig and the Earth Day Adventure”.

Fun Fact: Patrons of the Nobles County Library (Worthington) have saved $147,224.35 by using the library so far this year.
