The VB100 is a certification test designed to test the protection capabilities of endpoint security solutions. The tests are conducted by Virus Bulletin, an independent security information portal and certification body headquartered in the U.K.

We participated in the latest round of tests and we’re proud to announce that Emsisoft Anti-Malware received a perfect score! Read on to learn more about the tests and the certification process.

The tests

To conduct the tests, each security solution was installed on a physical computer or virtual machine with specifications similar to those you would expect to find in a typical business setting. Security products were installed with default settings on a clean instance of Windows 10 Pro 64-bit with all recommended Windows updates installed.

The products were then exposed to hundreds of malicious samples collected by malware experts and research groups, as well as a set of approximately 100,000 non-malicious, regularly updated samples taken from popular software downloads.

Emsisoft Anti-Malware flew through the tests, detecting 100 percent of the 903 malicious samples while generating zero false positives, and was subsequently awarded the VB100!
