Pasta group Bancone will open a new restaurant this spring, in Kensington.

The brand has taken on a 2,565sq ft site within the new Wrights Arcade in west London for what will be its fourth site.

The 120-cover restaurant will serve executive chef Ben Waugh’s menu that features classic Bancone dishes including silk handkerchiefs with walnut butter and confit egg yolk; Spicy pork and nduja ragù with tagliatelle; cacio e pepe; gorgonzola and Swiss chard pappardelle with guanciale; and Herdwick hogget pappardelle with soy, Thai basil, and chilli.

The Kensington restaurant will also feature a number of new dishes that Waugh is working on.

Meaning ‘counter’ in Italian, Bancone was founded by Will Ellner and David Ramsay in 2018 and was part of London’s new wave pasta movement that also saw the emergence of brands including Padella and Lina Stores. It launched its first site in Covent Garden with a second opening in Soho’s Golden Square in early 2020.

“When we opened the doors to Bancone in Covent Garden, none of us ever thought we’d be opening our fourth site a few years later in such a great spot,” says Ellner.

“We have been looking for the right location in west London for a while now and we are thrilled with this site: spacious and bright, giving us the freedom to create a unique restaurant.

“We are delighted to be opening our fourth site in the heart of West London to enable us to bring our pasta to new audiences.”

In 2023 Bancone opened its largest restaurant in London’s Borough Yards.
