A major road in Nottingham city centre will be closed for days as trams and buses will be severely disrupted. Middle Hill, located by the Broad Marsh site, will be closed from midnight on Saturday, April 12, until Thursday, April 17, at 5am.
The closure will allow for tram track replacement work to take place. During the repairs, trams will be unable to run between Old Market Square and Nottingham Station and 23 Nottingham City Transport (NCT) bus services will have to divert.
The Lace Market tram stop will remain closed throughout the closure and will not be serviced by trams or replacement buses, Nottingham Express Transit (NET) confirmed. NCT Green Line buses will accept tram tickets and passes between Angel Row, near Old Market Square, and Carrington Street, along the railway station.
NCT buses that normally use Middle Hill, Fletcher Gate and George Street will use Canal Street, Bellar Gate and Cranbrook Street instead. The affected services are Green 5, 5A, 6, 7, 8, 9, 9B, 10, 10C, 10X, 11, 11A, and 11C, Navy 49, 49A, 49B, and 49X, and Turquoise 77, 77C, 78, 79, 79A, and 79B.
None of the stops on Fletcher Gate and George Street will be serviced during the track replacement works.
