New Hampshire firefighters called to fire at fish farm in East Hereford, Quebec
Some New Hampshire firefighters responded to a fire at a fish farm in Quebec.
Beecher Falls Volunteer Fire Department Chief Steve Young told News 9 they were called to the fire around 4 p.m. Thursday in East Hereford, Quebec.
When they got there, they found a large commercial fish farm well involved with fire. The owner told firefighters the fire started in a fish smoker and he had attempted to put out the fire but was unsuccessful, Young said.

Firefighters from Pittsburg and Colebrook assisted at the fire.
A small number of fish were lost in the fire but all the buildings containing the fish were saved and are up and working, according to Young.
Young said most of the loss was retail and storage areas, and some machinery was also lost.
