Gabby Logan has admitted there was a time when she "didn't really want to" have sex with her husband, Kenny, in a heartbreaking confession.

The BBC Sport presenter, 51, has been married to the Scottish rugby star, 52, since 2001. However, when Gabby, who shares 18-year-old twins with Kenny, entered perimenopause and then menopause, she says her libido suffered.

According to the NHS, as women start to approach the menopause, levels of the female hormone oestrogen begin to fall, which can affect libido.

Speaking about how the menopause affected her, Gabby said: "My libido was definitely affected by the menopause and perimenopause. I found I didn't want to have sex with my husband as much, and it felt like something I was going to have to do even if I didn't really want to. It was almost like: ''Is this going to become a duty?'

The star continued: "So many women say this and I didn't want to become one of them." Gabby added that she wanted to improve her libido because her sex life with her husband had always been so important."

Thankfully, a doctor prescribed the presenter HRT (hormone replacement therapy), with Gabby admitting she was relieved and emotional at the thought of her couple's physical relationship returning to what it once was.

In November 2023 while appearing on Anna Richardson's podcast It Can't Just Be Me, she said: "I felt definitely a massive improvement there and that was important to me. I had a very healthy relationship with my husband and I loved him and fancied him and I couldn't understand why I didn't want to have sex with him as much or why it was something that I felt I was going to have to have."

In 2022, Kenny and Gabby faced more pressure in their relationship when the former Scotland rugby star was diagnosed with prostate cancer, which required surgery.

Kenny spoke about how his surgery affected his sex life with Gabby on his wife's podcast, The Midpoint. The couple have always been open about their relationship, with the dad-of-two revealing that having his prostate removed had huge effects.

In an interview with the Telegraph, he later said: "Whether it be my dyslexia, my relationship, IVF, we've always been quite open. So, I was quite happy to talk about erectile dysfunction and all these other things because I was like, 'It is a symptom'.

"Six months on, I would say I'm physically 100 per cent, mentally 100 per cent, feel good. From a sexual point of view, it's not consistent. As the surgeon said to me, this could take 18 months.

"Within a month, I was getting movement, where he says, 'That's amazing'. So it's just not as consistent. The beauty is you can take a tablet and it changes things."
