A 15-year-old girl died suddenly after suffering a cardiac arrest in a Pembrokeshire village. Emergency services were called to a house in Burton near the Cleddau Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

Paramedics and police officers were present at the scene having been called to a report of a girl in cardiac arrest. Sadly the girl, who has been named as Kady Hannah Absalom, died at the address. An inquest into her death was opened by Paul Bennett, the acting senior coroner for Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire, at the County Hall in Haverfordwest on Thursday morning. Speaking at the hearing PC Carrie Sheridan, coroner’s officer for Dyfed-Powys Police, said: “At 4.27pm on March 15 police were notified by the Welsh Ambulance Service of a 15-year-old female reported to be in cardiac arrest inside a residential address in Burton. Sadly, the female, who was later identified as Kady Hannah Absalom, died at the address.

“A post mortem examination was carried out by Dr Stephen Leadbetter at Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen, the result of which is still pending. Dyfed-Powys Police has launched a full investigation and enquiries are ongoing.” Mr Bennett offered his condolences to Ms Absalom's family and adjourned the inquest until June 12.
