Scott Eckert will expand the company’s marketplace and retail media services, focusing on increasing the adoption of Mirakl Ads for first-party and third-party products.

Mirakl has appointed Scott Eckert as its new CEO of the Americas.

He will lead efforts to expand the company’s marketplace and retail media services, focusing on increasing the adoption of Mirakl Ads for first-party and third-party products and growing the Mirakl Connect platform, which allows brands and sellers to operate across multiple marketplaces. Mirakl is an ecommerce software and services provider to B2B and B2C marketplaces.

The announcement follows strong financial results for 2024. Mirakl reported gross merchandise value (GMV) of $11.2 billion for the year, a 30% increase from 2023.

About the new Mirakl CEO

Eckert has over 25 years of experience in retail and technology. He previously served as senior vice president of Next Generation Retail at Walmart, where he led Store No. 8, Walmart’s venture incubator. Under his leadership, Store No. 8 developed a range of technologies, including unattended delivery, computer vision in stores, conversational AI shopping, in-game commerce, augmented reality, and health insights.

Earlier in his career, Eckert helped establish the AI-powered collaborative robotics category at Rethink Robotics and co-founded Motion Computing, growing it to over $100 million in revenue. He also held early leadership roles in ecommerce at Dell.

Adrien Nussenbaum, Mirakl’s co-founder and co-CEO, said Eckert’s background in retail innovation and technology aligns with the company’s strategic goals.

“Scott’s leadership will be key as we strengthen our position and support retailers, brands, and sellers in the evolving ecommerce market,” Nussenbaum said.

Mirakl’s client network includes companies such as Best Buy, Bloomingdale’s, Henry Schein, Macy’s, Saks, ShopSimon, Toyota Material Handling, and Urban Outfitters.
