Romania beat San Marino 5-1, adding three more points in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, winning without any scares and beating San Marino away from home, in another victory for Romania here at VAVEL!

This will be the first ever clash between the two teams. The two teams have never faced each other in history and today they will face each other for the first time, whether in friendlies or official matches, as will be the case today.

San Marino, in the Nations League, led Group 1 with seven points, one above Gibraltar and five above Liechtenstein. Romania, in Group 2 of League C, took the lead with 18 points, six above Kosovo, 12 above Cyprus and 18 above Lithuania.

The two teams today are in Group H of the World Cup Qualifiers. After one round, Cyprus is in first place with three points, tied with Bosnia. Austria, without playing yet in the round, has no points, as well as Romania and San Marino, both with one game and no points in the competition.

Romania, on the other hand, has two wins and one loss in their last games. On October 15, 2-1, they won against Lithuania, with goals from Razvan Marin and Denis Dragus, while Armandas Kucys scored. On November 18, the team won 4-1 against Cyprus, with goals from Daniel Birligea, Razvan Marin (2) and Florinel Coman, while Ioannis Pittas scored a goal. And on Friday (21), the team lost 1-0 at home to Bosnia, with a goal from Armin Gigovic.

San Marino comes into today's clash with a draw, a win and a loss in their last games. On November 15, 1-1, they drew at home with Gibraltar, with Liam Walker scoring for Gibraltar and Niola Nanni equalizing. On the 18th, 3-1, they won away against Liechtenstein, with goals from Lorenzo Lazzari, Nicola Nanni and Alessandro Golinucci, while Aron Sele scored. And on Friday (21), 2-0, they lost away to Cyprus, with goals from Ioannis Pittas and Andronikos Kakoullis.
