CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Armstrong customers in Northeast Ohio will once again be able to watch live Cleveland Guardians games this season. The cable operator announced it has reached a multi-year deal with Major League Baseball to carry approximately 150 games this season.

Guardians TV, the new television home of the team, will appear on the same channel number as last year.

The company, which provides service in Medina, Ashland, Boardman, parts of Lorain County and other areas, is the first cable, satellite or live TV provider to partner with Guardians TV. Spectrum and Cox have not yet made similar announcements, though some customers have posted photos on social media of a Guardians channel appearing on their on-screen program guides.

Fubo, a streaming platform that carried the Guardians last season on Bally Sports, is promoting live games on its service, but hasn’t made anything official either. DirecTV, meanwhile, says on its website that it’s “currently working with MLB and the Guardians” to add Guardians TV to its lineup in time for Opening Day.

“Stay tuned,” a team spokesperson said.

Fans without a live TV provider can opt to watch games through CLEGuardians.TV, MLB’s direct-to-consumer product, on their smart TV, computer or mobile device for $19.99 per month or $99.99 for the entire season.

Matt Underwood, Rick Manning and Andre Knott will be in the booth for the 11th consecutive year and will also host the postgame show following road games. Each home game will feature a 30-minute pregame show and a 15-minute postgame show, hosted by Al Pawlowski and Chris Gimenez.

The telecasts will include technological enhancements, such as a new Wire Cam at Progressive Field, live look-ins to the MLB Replay Operations Center and a new camera with a shallow depth-of-field look. The league took over the broadcasts after the team’s deal with Diamond Sports Group, the parent of Bally Sports (now FanDuel Sports Network), expired at the end of the 2024 season as the company was emerging from bankruptcy.

The Guardians open the season Thursday afternoon in Kansas City.
