The new era of the Nintendo Switch is about to begin, as a new Direct showcase is set to show off the Nintendo Switch 2 in all of its glory.
One down, one to go. The latest Nintendo Direct presentation has officially concluded, and as we explored in our live coverage of the March Direct, there’s a lot to be excited about. Changes to how Nintendo chooses to distribute its news in its new Nintendo Today App and the introduction of the Digital Game Card system might have led the charge for the company, but the announcement of new games in the Tomodachi Life and Rhythm Heaven series have inspired a lot of excitement in players. But wait, there’s more!
The next Nintendo Direct, set to come less than a week after the last one, will finally unveil the power, hardware and games of the Nintendo Switch 2, hopefully including the doughy-looking new Mario Kart title that was shared in the first teaser trailer for the console.
It’s going to be incredibly exciting to see the new generation of Nintendo consoles unfold before us, but we have to get to the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct before we get too hyped. So, how exactly can you tune in? Here’s what you need to know about the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct start date is set for Wednesday, April 2, at 6am PDT / 9am EDT / 2pm BST. This date and time was confirmed along with the initial teaser, but we got a reminder last month on Twitter for good measure.
The showcase will be available to watch on YouTube on the Nintendo of America channel. The stream is not yet live on the channel, but when it appears, we'll embed it below.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct runtime hasn’t been confirmed yet, but to showcase all of the console’s features, launch plans, and even a few games to expect at launch, we can expect a pretty hefty showcase of around 40 minutes. We’re likely to find out about pre-orders for the console at the same time too, so have your wallet on standby.
