March 28-29

Girl Scout Troop #8845 will be selling cookies at Family Fare in Mio 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 28 and Saturday the 29th. The troop is raising money to “see the ocean this year.”

March 29

National Vietnam War Veterans Day observance 11 a.m. at Oscoda County Veterans Memorial Park.

April 10

Easter Bonnets & Tea, 2 p.m. at the Bridge, 1554 N. Abbe Road, Fairview. Ladies will decorate hats and enjoy tea and treats, no cost.

April 12

Chili Cook off & Silent Auction fund raiser at Comins Eagles Aerie #3544, 3510 N. Abbe Rd.(M-33), between Comins and Fairview. Tickets for chili tasting and judging are six tickets for $5 per person. Doors open at 1 p.m. The event closes at 5 p.m.

Lights, Camera, Auction! Eagle Spirit/Eagle Pride presents its annual auction fundraiser to benefit extracurricular activities for the students of Fairview Area Schools, 1879 E. Miller Road (M-33), Fairview. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.

Jamboree at Open Mike Productions, Seymore Avenue at First Street, in Comins: Poor Boys of Gaylord, 6 p.m. $10 admission includes meal.

Lunch starts at 11:45 a.m. at the Oscoda County Council on Aging Senior Center in Mio. All meals are served with milk. A $3 donation is suggested for seniors 60 and over. The cost is $6.50 for those under 60.

Soup and Bread, a fundraiser for the Senior Center, is available most days as a to-go option. Soup is $6 for 32 oz. There are usually two choices, but sometimes only one, especially on Fridays. A small round loaf of bread is $1.50.

OCCOA also has a Homemade Pie fundraiser. Crème pies are $11. Choose chocolate, banana, lemon, peanut butter or coconut. Pumpkin or Dutch apple pies are $12 each. Order by Wednesday to be picked up on Friday by 1 p.m. Place your order on the Oscoda County Council on Aging Facebook page or call 989-826-3025.
