Britt Baker Still With AEW Despite Deleting Social Media References (AEW News)

Speculation once again ramps up on Britt Baker's AEW status.

Having not wrestled a match since November, many fans have questioned what's going on with AEW's Britt Baker. And adding further to this uncertainty, the former AEW Women's Champion has now removed any mention of Tony Khan's promotion from her social media bios.

The removal of AEW from Britt's bios was picked up on by fans on Reddit, with some speculating that this could mean D.M.D. is either no longer with the company or at least on her way out of AEW.

If Fightful Select is to be believed, this could all be a case of fans adding 2 and 2, and getting 847. As in, the outlet reports that not only is Britt Baker still with AEW, but that she's under AEW contract for "quite some time".

The Role Model was last seen on the 13 November edition of AEW Dynamite, where she picked up a win over Penelope Ford. Of course, post-match, we had Serena Deeb come out on the stage to confront Baker - seemingly setting up a programme between the two - which saw Britt say "nobody cares" several times into the camera.

In the immediate aftermath of this, Wade Keller at PWTorch reported that Tony Khan was "fed-up" with Britt Baker's behaviour and that "no one ever wants to see her come back". That was soon followed up Bryan Alvarez taking to X to somewhat downplay the severity of this situation, saying stories of Baker being done with AEW were "blown way out of proportion", but added how "she's not being used and there don't appear to be any imminent plans" for Britt.

Britt Baker In AEW

Making her in-ring debut in 2015, January 2019 saw Britt Baker announced as the first female wrestler to be signed to AEW, making her company debut at the inaugural Double or Nothing, where she won a four-way match featuring Nyla Rose, Awesome Kong, and Kylie Rae.

It was an admittedly rough start in AEW for Britt as a babyface, with fans struggling to connect to her schtick. Of course, that all changed when she turned heel in early 2020, embarking on a run that would eventually see Baker have a 290-day reign as the AEW Women's Champion, often with Rebel and Jamie Hayter at her side. The Pittsburgh native would also find success in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, becoming the first-ever winner of the women's Owen.

Despite all of her success in AEW - becoming one of the promotion's top stars in the process - it's been a bit of a stop-start couple of years for Britt Baker. A back injury and later a mini-stroke kept the 33-year-old out of action for nine months across the end of 2023 and into the summer of 2024. After returning to the ring at Blood & Guts that July, Britt would be suspended the following month following a backstage incident with MJF and Alicia Atout. Despite that suspension, Baker would be back in time to unsuccessfully challenge Mercedes Moné for the AEW TBS Championship at All In 2024. Since then, she's wrestled just two matches, one being a Dynamite win over Serena Deeb in October, the other being that aforementioned Penelope Ford bout.

As for what's next for Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., it remains to be seen when - or if - she'll be brought back to AEW TV, but as per this latest Fightful report, the Good Doctor is very much still with the company.
