Bucks Pocket State Park resides partially in Jackson County. A unique experience is being offered by the Alabama State Parks system. Alapark.com is introducing the Alabama State Park Ambassadors Program. This program offers the opportunity for park regulars, hikers, bikers, photographers, and adventure lovers of all types.

 The program is a voluntary one that allows selected participants to be involved with their favorite parks in a new way. Upon acceptance to the program, Alabama State Parks Ambassadors will be invited to document their experience at the park, such as hiking trails, lodge views, camping, glamping, biking, and more, through photos and videos.

 To become a park ambassador, fill out the application at Alapark.com/Ambassadors. Those who are accepted for the program will be contacted. Requirements include frequent visitations to parks and providing a minimum of four photos and/or videos per month to be used by the parks system.

 A fun movement challenge for kids will be held at King Caldwell Park on Thursday, April 3 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The Adventure in Motion will be hosted by the Jackson County Extension Office, Move Alabama, and the Scottsboro Public Library.  Saturday, April 5 beginning at 9 a.m. the downtown square in Scottsboro will be filled with the Jubilee & Art Festival. Enjoy artists, live entertainment, and creative fun for the entire family. The square is located at 316 S Broad St, Scottsboro. Festival ends at 4 p.m.

 Georgia Duke and PAPER MOON originals will present Mosaic Sunflower workshop on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12 at 6 p.m. The two-day workshop will also be held on April 18 and 19th.  A fee of $65 covers all supplies.  The Jackson County Master Gardeners will host a Spring Plant Sale at the Jackson County Senior Center on Saturday, April 12 from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. A variety of plants from Master Gardeners home gardens will be for sale. Located at 146 Rita Williams Dr, Scottsboro.

 Riley Holland will hold three cookie decorating classes on Saturday, April 12 from noon – 5:30 p.m. The adult classes will be six Easter/Spring themed cookies and the class is suitable for age 12 and older. Cost for adult class is $45. The children’s class will be four Easter/Spring cookies and cost $35 per person. This class is for ages 6 -12. Each class will include a lesson, step-by-step guidance, and all of the supplies needed to decorate. A box will also be supplied for students to carry home their creations. Adult class is noon – 1:30 p.m., Child class 2 – 3:3- p.m., and another adult class from 4 – 5:30 p.m.

 Space only permits for 12 students at a time. Spot must be reserved and is not considered reserved until payment is made. If all spots fill a waiting list will be started.
