Stars, they’re just like us! They go on walking tours of Paris. But one of the first things I spotted when I came across this delightful carousel of pics posted by Jennifer Garner and Judy Greer to Instagram was their feet: Reader, they’re wearing functional footwear (i.e. sneakers) to walk around the City of Light. Brava.
Jennifer Garner & Judy Greer Have “13 Going on 30” Reunion in Paris—and I Can’t Get Over What They’ve Got on Their Feet
Function over fashion

Even their fans call it out in the comments with one person posting: “Finally, two people in Paris wearing appropriate shoes to walk everywhere and enjoy the city the right way.” Another adds: “I love that they are such sneaker queens.”
It’s true: As Garner and Greer—who are both in Paris to film season two of the Apple+ thriller series, The Last Thing He Told Me, based on the bestselling book by Laura Dave—make their way around town, they’re both wearing plain old sneakers. (Of course, paired with chic coats and to-go croissants, they look pretty damn stylish, too.)
There’s more—for the long-time friends, this may have just been another day in the life. But for fans of 13 Going on 30, which premiered in 2004, this was photographic evidence of the reunion we’ve all been waiting for. Of course, Garner played Jenna Rink in the hit film with Greer as her professional nemesis, TomTom. Enemies? This pair is most certainly not.
Their day spent lingering by the Seine, enjoying decadent French pastries and riding a dog-bone themed department store escalator was equal parts playful and fun. (Even Ina Garten chimed in full of envy: “How could you be there without me?!!!” the culinary queen wrote.)
But back to the footwear: Can we make the case that we should all embrace functional footwear where it matters? Prioritize foot health over fashion in order to get where we need to go?
If JG and JG—how they dub themselves in the Instagram carousel caption—can do it, so can we.
