Meet The Press With Kristen Welker Set

WASHINGTON, D.C. — This Sunday on NBC’s Meet the Press, viewers will get exclusive insights and discussions with prominent political leaders, including Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent and Senators James Lankford (R-Okla.) and Adam Schiff (D-Calif.). Moderated by veteran journalist Kristen Welker, the program will explore the latest political developments impacting the nation.

For over 75 years, Meet the Press has been a leading platform for political reporting, reaching millions of viewers weekly. The show provides in-depth interviews and analysis, positioning itself as a critical space for understanding Washington’s influence on ordinary Americans.

“We aim to set the political agenda and highlight how decisions made in Washington resonate with people’s everyday lives,” said Welker, who became the 13th moderator of the program. Her leadership marks a historic moment as she is the first journalist of color to host a Sunday public affairs program in this capacity.

The episode will kick off a roundtable discussion featuring Leigh Ann Caldwell, Chief Washington Correspondent for NBC News, and Lanhee Chen, a fellow at the Hoover Institution. Joining them will be Garrett Haake, NBC News Senior White House Correspondent, and Neera Tanden, President and CEO of the Center for American Progress.

In addition to the main Sunday broadcast, Meet the Press NOW expands its reach with real-time discussions and interviews every weekday at 4 p.m. on NBC News NOW, ensuring an engaging experience for viewers who seek informed dialogue on current events.

“It’s important that we continue to innovate and adapt our platform to reach audiences across various digital channels,” said Carrie Budoff Brown, NBC News Senior Vice President for Politics. “We want to make sure that the distinct voices and vital perspectives from Washington are accessible to everyone.”

With executive producers David Gelles for Meet the Press and Melissa Frankel for Meet the Press NOW, the program is committed to delivering accurate and timely news while fostering important conversations about the future of the nation.
