The votes are in....
The votes are in and counting has just completed to find out where you can get the best 99 ice cream cone in all of Laois. Spurred on by the glorious sunshine we have been experiencing, the team here at Laois Live gave readers the chance to have their say.
After putting a call-out across social media for suggestions, it became quite evident that Laois delivers some seriously sweet options. With over 2,000 votes cast it is clear the people of Laois are passionate about their ice cream.
The top choices were: Aidan Byrnes in Mountrath, Bracken's Gala in Portlaoise, Slevins' in Portarlington, Simpsons' in Stradbally, O'Gorman's in Mountmellick and Dunne's Filling station in Portlaoise.
In third place with 188 votes was Dunne's Filling station in Portlaoise. In second place was Simpson's Gala in Stradbally with an impressive 514 votes.
But there was one clear winner from the start - Aidan Byrnes in Mountrath with a whopping 808 votes. Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts and support your local shop by picking up a treat to cool down.
