Netflix viewers can’t get enough of a new Korean crime thriller praised for its ‘crazy twists’ and ‘masterful acting’.
The six-part K-drama, starring Lee He-jun, Squid Game star Park Hae-soo, and Shin Min-a, is based on a webtoon by Choi See-Hun with the adaptation directed by Lee Il-hyung.
The synopsis reads: ‘When a man goes to extremes to repay a dangerous loan shark, it sparks a chain of tragic events that connects a group of people in unexpected ways. What will it take to end the domino effect of everyone’s bad deeds?’
And follows a ‘ne’er-do-well whose fate becomes tied to ruthless criminals out for blood — and a few innocent people who get caught up in a web of questionable decisions.’
And it is already being widely praised for its electric plot and masterclass acting.

‘Karma delivers on mystery and intrigue from beginning to end. While only six episodes long, it’s among the most satisfying watches of 2025,’ the FandomWire review reads.
Although Decider warns that the complex nature of the plots can sometimes let it down, adding: ‘Karma has the potential to be a fine series with intertwining plots, but it could also be an exercise in frustration, depending on how long those plots take to develop.’
In an interview with Korea JoongAng Daily, Park (who plays the mystery character The Witness), said: ‘I’m very grateful for the praise, but really, the story has so much strength on its own, and it’s really thanks to Lee’s direction and chemistry with the other actors that allowed the character to change naturally.
‘There’s a wide range to him, and I think people responded to that.’

‘You don’t often get a chance to play someone who shifts this much in one story. It was exciting to step into a character who doesn’t follow rules and crosses lines.’
