JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Cambria County Backpack Project's annual Hoops4Hunger three-on-three basketball tournament will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday inside the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown's Sports Center.

The tournament welcomes teams from fifth grade through adult divisions, with all proceeds supporting the Backpack Project’s mission to provide weekend meals for food-insecure children throughout the region. Teams consist of three to five players, and games will run throughout the day. Medals will be awarded to division winners.

“This tournament brings the community together for a day of fun and friendly competition, but more importantly, it helps ensure that local kids don’t go hungry over the weekend,” project Executive Director Kristen Villarrial said in a release.

Spectators are welcome, and concessions will be available. The admission fee is $3 or you can bring a food donation of Cup of Noodles, Slim Jims, fruit cups, pudding cups, macaroni and cheese cups or Chef Boyardee cups.
