Louis Tomlinson is no longer single!
On Thursday, April 10, Love Island star Zara McDermott gave fans a subtle — but totally clear — confirmation that she and the former One Direction singer are dating.
In an Instagram Stories post from Malibu, California, Zara shared a cozy breakfast snap featuring eggs benedict and blueberry pancakes. But what really caught fans’ attention wasn’t the food — it was the unmistakable sight of Louis’ signature cross tattoo in the corner of the frame. Directioners, of course, spotted it instantly.
Fans wasted no time reacting to the surprise soft-launch. “zara knew what she was doing by posting that story with louis arm on it, believe me us ( girls ) watch every detail of a pic before posting it on our story haha,” one fan wrote on X. Another simply gushed, “I’m so happy for louis and zara. genuinely. i am.”
Romance rumors between Louis and Zara have been swirling for a little while. It all started when eagle-eyed fans on Reddit noticed they had recently followed each other on Instagram in March 2025. Things got even more interesting when fans pointed out that Louis’ sisters — Lottie, and twins Daisy and Phoebe — are also following Zara, and she follows them back. Obviously, this sent the fandom into full investigation mode.
“I’ve read a lot of rumours that Louis is in a relationship with Zara McDermott. They recently started to follow each other on Instagram. She follows all of his sisters, and they follow her back. Obviously, following a person on Instagram doesn’t mean that people are in a relationship, lol. But, I just find it weird, and I am scared that this will be a new stunt. Especially since I’ve read about them many times,” one fan posted on Reddit.
For those who need a refresher, Zara first rose to fame on Love Island UK in 2018. Since then, she’s become a successful TV presenter and documentary filmmaker, tackling tough topics like revenge porn and eating disorders. She also appeared on The X Factor: Celebrity and Made in Chelsea during her five-year relationship with Sam Thompson, which ended in late 2024.
As for Louis, he was in a long-term, on-and-off relationship with Eleanor Calder before they split in 2023. He’s also a dad to his son, Freddie, whom he shares with ex Briana Jungwirth.
