Celebrity Big Brother star Mickey Rourke axed over 'inappropriate behaviour'

Mickey Rourke has been removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house after repeated warnings over his behaviour, with the star making homophobic comments towards JoJo Siwa

Mickey Rourke is packing his bags and saying goodbye to the Celebrity Big Brother house, an ITV spokesperson has confirmed.

The spokesperson revealed: "Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour."

This exit follows a series of stern warnings from the show's honchos due to Mickey's controversial antics inside the house, which included homophobic slurs and fat-shaming jibes aimed at other celebs.

Even before he stepped foot in the Big Brother abode, Mickey was already causing a buzz. Eagle-eyed viewers called him out for giving host AJ Odudu the eye in a way that didn't sit well with them, reports the Mirror.

Once in the show, Mickey didn't hold back, throwing homophobic remarks at JoJo Siwa and boasting he could 'turn her straight'. In a conversation that raised eyebrows, he quizzed JoJo: "Where's the smoke room? Where's the cigarette room? ," and followed up with, "Do you like girls or boys?"

JoJo, standing her ground, responded: "Me? Girls. My partner is non-binary," only for Mickey to retort: "If I stay longer than four days, you won't be gay anymore."

JoJo clapped back, assuring: "I can guarantee I'll still be gay and I'll still be in a very happy relationship."

Later, as Mickey strolled into the garden, he mentioned to Chris from Love Island about eviction choices, saying: "I'm going to vote the lesbian out real quick."

JoJo, overhearing this, hit back: "That's homophobic, if that was your reasoning."

In a moment of banter about needing a smoke, he quipped: "I need a [cigarette]," then gestured to JoJo and added: "I'm not talking to you."

Chris Hughes quickly stepped in, telling Mickey: "Mickey, you can't say that."

Big Brother didn't take it lightly, giving him a stern warning in the Diary Room: "Mickey before you entered the Big Brother house the rules regarding unacceptable language and behaviour were explained to you ... Mickey, do you understand how this language could be offensive to your Housemates or the viewing public?"

"Yeah I think so. If I was saying it in a nasty kind of way or if I truly meant it," Mickey responded, only for Big Brother to retort: "Mickey, Big Brother thinks your language was offensive and unacceptable ..

"As a result, Big Brother is giving you a formal warning. Further language or behaviour of this nature could lead to you being removed from the Big Brother house. Mickey, do you understand?".

To which Mickey replied: "Yes I do. It's some serious stuff .... I apologise. I don't have dishonourable intentions - I'm just talking smack you know. I wasn't taking it all so serious. I didn't mean in it any bad intentions and if I did, sorry."

It isn't just comments towards Jojo that have courted controversy either, as during a chat with Donna Preston, Mickey suggested she'd "probably be better off running around the block for ten minutes" when she asked if her LED face mask was showing results.

In a recent episode, Patsy Palmer was also left teary-eyed when Mickey made disparaging remarks about her culinary skills.

The EastEnders star went to the diary room to become upset after Mickey said that she was a terrible cook, with Patsy telling Big Brother: "I always want my kids to always stand up for themselves."

"Sorry," she said, breaking down in tears. "I tried to talk that one out but it didn't really work. I feel like I let myself down there and I don't want my reactions to be like that.

"I always want my kids to always stand up for themselves. Maybe it was just a joke - maybe I need to look at it like that. I need to try to rise above it. It doesn't mean I have to like him."

Mickey was unaware that he had upset Patsy, and he didn't let the issue drop - later telling Big Brother that they need to invest in providing better food for the contestants. "I think in future, you guys should hire really good chefs to feed the people," he said.
