Mickey Rourke's final act that led to Celebrity Big Brother axe

After less than a week in the Celebrity Big Brother house, Hollywood star Mickey Rourke was officially asked to leave following a string of inappropriate and offensive remarks

After several days marked with controversy in the Celebrity Big Brother house, Hollywood star Mickey Rourke has officially been axed from the show following what CBB described as “further use of inappropriate language and unacceptable behaviour.” Since stepping into the CBB house at the start of the competition, Mickey has been no stranger to controversy, after he made numerous fat phobic and homophobic remarks, as well as belittling his co-stars cooking skills.

Yet despite warnings from CBB about watching his language and his attitude, a further incident has now led to his removal from the competition altogether. A spokesperson for Celebrity Big Brother said: "Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour.”

It is understood that following the offensive remarks on Wednesday, there were further incidents regarding Rourke, with the final straw coming after he locked horns with Love Island's Chris Hughes during a task.

Although the altercation didn’t become physical, a disagreement between the pair led to behaviour and language deemed threatening and aggressive, leaving CBB no choice than to ask Rourke to leave the house.

Mickey's rumoured fee of £500,000 will reportedly be slashed by ITV as a result of his early exit from the house, with a source telling The Sun: "If a celebrity gets removed from the house, they don't get the full fee. It’s as simple as that and they will be discussing that with him. Mickey was ready to leave the house and it ended up feeling like a mutual decision between him and ITV in the end. It was getting too much."

Since Mickey's axing from the show, former housemate Michael Fabricant has broken his silence on the matter after becoming the first contestant to be voted out of Celebrity Big Brother this year. Taking to X, former Tory MP Michael said: "He wanted to leave on Day One."

In fact, Mickey was filmed asking housemates Ella-Rae Wise and Angelica Bell to put him up for nomination just hours before being kicked off the show.

The latest incident follows on from earlier interactions with his fellow housemates, which included a string of homophobic remarks towards JoJo Siwa, when he made comments about Siwa's sexuality, telling her "If I stay longer than four days, you won't be gay anymore.”

He also told the singer he would “tie you up” and later vowed to “vote out the lesbian”, before being confronted by Siwa who slammed the star for being homophobic.

In a further incident he later commented he "I need a f**”, while referring to a cigarette, before gesturing to Siwa and bluntly saying “I’m not talking to you.”

This prompted Chris Hughes to jump to Jojo’s defence and tell Mickey “you can’t say that” although it still appears to have fallen on deaf ears.

Following the interaction, Mickey was summoned to the diary room and given an official warning by Big Brother and later apologised, but any remorse was short-lived as he later came under fire for making fat phobic comments towards Donna Preston.

Yet even before all this unfolded on screen, Rourke had drawn widespread criticism from fans for his “creepy” behaviour towards AJ Odudu when entering the house on Monday’s launch show. The complaints stemmed from an “uncomfortable” amount of time that he spent staring at her body, prompting AJ to tell him to “stop looking at me.”

And if that wasn’t enough to seal his exit from the show, a further incident also involved reducing EastEnders star Patsy Palmer to tears on Friday after he made repeated jibes about her cooking.

After Mickey made repeated comments about Patsy's cooking to the group, Patsy broke down in the diary room to Big Brother. She said: "I tried to talk that one out but it didn't really work. I feel like I let myself down there and I don't want my reactions to be like that.

"I always want my kids to always stand up for themselves. Maybe it was just a joke - maybe I need to look at it like that. I need to try to rise above it. It doesn't mean I have to like him."

Unaware that Patsy had become upset, Mickey continued to speak about her cooking, telling Big Brother: "I think in future, you guys should hire really good chefs to feed the people."

Mickey’s catalogue of wrongdoings even prompted some viewers on social media to threaten to boycott the show unless he was removed.

Following Rourke's first warning, one horrified fan wrote on X: "Sorry a warning isn’t enough. Telling a 21 year old he’ll tie her up? She won’t be gay anymore? All the language he used? He's disgusting and should be removed straight away. #CBBUK #CBB."

Meanwhile, many were convinced that Mickey had been ready to walk from the show whether he was eliminated during Friday night's episode or not. "He seemed pretty adamant this was a 4 day job — and it wouldn’t be the first time he completed a short contract then self-eliminated," one viewer wrote on X.

They then added a clip of Mickey's time on The Masked Singer US, where he chose to leave the show early by taking off his mask at the end of his very first performance.
