Mickey Rourke's final row that led to Celebrity Big Brother exit

Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke has been removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house after a fresh row.

After a series of controversies in the Celebrity Big Brother house, Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke has been removed from the show due to what the CBB producers have termed "further use of inappropriate language and unacceptable behaviour."

Since he arrived at the CBB house, Mickey has consistently been embroiled in controversy, with multiple instances of fat-phobic and homophobic comments, alongside criticising other contestants' culinary talents.

Despite previous warnings by CBB regarding his conduct and choice of words, another serious incident led to the decision of his expulsion from the competition. A spokesperson for Celebrity Big Brother stated: "Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour."

Following offensive comments on Wednesday, it is believed that additional issues arose concerning Mickey, culminating in his clash with Love Island alum Chris Hughes during a challenge.

While the confrontation didn't escalate to a physical one, the dispute saw behaviour and language that was considered threatening and hostile, which left CBB with no alternative but to request Rourke's departure from the programme, reports the Mirror.

The reality show has been marred by controversy following a series of incidents involving housemate Mickey, who made several offensive comments to his co-stars, escalating tensions within the house. In a particularly troubling exchange, he directed homophobic remarks at JoJo Siwa, suggesting, "If I stay longer than four days, you won't be gay anymore."

Mickey didn't stop there; he went on to threaten JoJo, stating he would "tie you up" and expressed his intent to "vote out the lesbian". This behaviour led to a bold confrontation with JoJo, who accused him of homophobia.

In another separate incident involving Mickey, he was heard saying, "I need an f**" in reference to wanting a cigarette while pointedly excluding JoJo from the conversation by quipping ", I'm not talking to you."

This series of events prompted Chris Hughes to intervene in defence of JoJo, rebuking Mickey with, "You can't say that." Despite this, Mickey's disdainful attitude persisted, and later, he was reported for making fat-phobic remarks towards Donna Preston.

Before these controversies played out on-screen, Mickey had already attracted negative attention from viewers for his unsettling demeanour towards AJ Odudu during Monday's launch show. His intense scrutiny of AJ's body was deemed "creepy" by fans and made her visibly uncomfortable, leading her to ask him to "stop looking at me."

Following the incidents, Big Brother called Mickey into the diary room for an official warning, and although he issued an apology, it seemed fleeting as his offensive behaviour continued.

Another incident saw EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer brought to tears on Friday following repeated digs about her culinary skills.

Mickey's continued remarks on Patsy's food led her to seek solace in the diary room, where she confided to Big Brother: "I tried to talk that one out, but it didn't really work. I feel like I let myself down there, and I don't want my reactions to be like that."

She reflected, adding, "I always want my kids to always stand up for themselves. Maybe it was just a joke - maybe I need to look at it like that. I need to try to rise above it. It doesn't mean I have to like him."

Oblivious to the distress he'd caused Patsy, Mickey persisted in critiquing her cooking whilst speaking with Big Brother, remarking: "I think in future, you guys should hire really good chefs to feed the people."

Social media also became ablaze with criticism of Mickey's conduct, as some viewers threatened to stop watching the show unless he was ejected.

After Mickey received his initial warning, a shocked viewer expressed disdain on X, writing: "Sorry, a warning isn't enough. Telling a 21-year-old he'll tie her up? She won't be gay anymore? All the language he used? He's disgusting and should be removed straight away. #CBBUK #CBB."

Meanwhile, several viewers thought Mickey had been set to depart from the programme regardless of whether or not he was voted off in Friday night's episode. "He seemed pretty adamant this was a 4-day job - and it wouldn't be the first time he completed a short contract then self-eliminated," one spectator penned on X.

Following this, they shared a snippet of Mickey's stint on The Masked Singer US, highlighting how he decided to exit the show ahead of schedule by unveiling his masked disguise at the culmination of his opening performance.

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight on ITV and ITVX.
