136 nabbed in PNP anti-cybercrime group’s March 2025 ops

The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group said it arrested 136 people in its 122 operations in March 2025.

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) said it arrested 136 people in its 122 operations in March 2025.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the PNP ACG said its cybercrime-related arrests in March 2025 were more than triple the 37 arrests it made in March 2024.

The PNP ACG detailed that the most common offenses in March 2025 were for violations of the following:

Republic Act 11934 or the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Registration Act

RA 12010 or the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act

RA 9995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act

RA 9175 or the Chain Saw Act

Grave coercion under Article 286 of the Revised Penal Code

All offenses were in relation to Section 6 of RA 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act.

Thirty people were arrested for selling registered SIM cards, the PNP ACG said.

It further detailed that 782 registered SIM cards were confiscated, of which 116 were linked to e-wallet accounts.

The anti-cybercrime unit added that it arrested 13 people for selling text blast machines and signal jammers, resulting in 25 of the devices being seized.
