The 15 cheapest places to buy a house in Greater Manchester with prices from £160k

The cheapest places to buy a home in Greater Manchester have now been revealed - with 15 areas where house prices are below £200,000. The Land Registry has now released its latest data, which reveals the sale price of properties sold recently in England and Wales.


On the whole, house prices in Britain have soared by more £5,000 in April, says Rightmove. April's figures show that the average asking price for newly listed homes is now at a record high of £377,182, rising by 1.4 percent from March's average of £371,870.


Across Greater Manchester, house prices have also continued to climb. However there are still some more affordable parts of the region where you are likely to find a bargain.


Bardsley in Oldham is the cheapest place to buy a home in Greater Manchester. Homes in the OL8 postcode area sold for an average of £164,686 in the last 12 months, which is less than any postcode area in our region.

Little Hulton in Salford is the next cheapest part of our region to buy a home. Houses sold for £165,954 each on average in the M38 postcode area in the last year.

This is followed by Chadderton in Oldham, where the average home sold for £175,562 in the last 12 months.


On the contrary, Altrincham in Trafford has the highest average house price of any postcode area in Greater Manchester, with homes selling for an average of £553,089 in the WA15 postcode area over the last year.
