TCP Department Inspects Worldwide Resorts Construction Amid Allegations of Violations in Bambolim
Panaji: The town and country planning (TCP) department conducted a site inspection of the construction being undertaken by Worldwide Resorts & Entertainment at Bambolim, in the wake of allegations of multiple violations.
TCP officials did not bring in the revenue department’s flying squad, panchayat representatives, or officials from the directorate of settlement & land records.
The inspection was ordered by the TCP department based on a complaint filed by St Andre MLA Viresh Borkar. Borkar accused the TCP department and other departments of working in cahoots with Worldwide Resorts & Entertainment to water down the site inspection report.
Worldwide Resorts & Entertainment received permission to build a structure with 39,000sqm of built-up area. Borkar and Goa Green Brigade convenor, Avertino Miranda, said that given the size of the project, an environmental impact assessment should have been carried out. The company counts Lakhram Goyal and Dhawal Goyal among its directors. The two are also directors of Big Daddy Hotels and Golden Globe Hotels.
