CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Fridays After Five is making its return this week. All your favorite local bands, for free, performing at the Ting Pavilion in downtown Charlottesville.

If you are planning on going, here is a heads up on the new system for buying drinks.

“So, you no longer have to come and stand in line for a beer ticket and then stand in line for a beverage. You just go up to wherever you’re going to be vending from and get your drink and be on your way quickly and back to the music,” said Jonathan Drolshagen, Ting Pavilion General Manager.

Fridays After Five is going cashless. You will just need to bring your card or use your phone to tap-to-pay.

“Our music will start at 5:30. We’ve got Jay Pun and Morwenna Alaska opening, followed by Isaac Hadden Band. And then Elby Brass is going to parade down the Mall from the Omni,” Drolshagen said.

This Friday is going to be especially busy on the Downtown Mall.

“This year for our first Fridays After Five, we’re going to be working with TomTom Festival. So, we’ll be participating in the Block Party,” Drolshagen said.
