Optus customers to be hit with price increase from June

Optus is slugging customers on certain monthly mobile plans with a price hike.
The telecommunications giant sent out emails informing customers on several different plans that prices will rise from June 4, 2025.
The price jumps range between $2 and $6 per month depending on the plan, Optus managing director of customer solutions Anthony Shiner said.

"We're committed to helping keep Australians connected and continue to invest in improving the speed, coverage and reliability of our network, as well as enhancing technology, to provide a great experience for our customers," Shiner said.
"To support this, we are updating the price and data of some of our Choice, ChoicePlus and Business Mobile Plus plans from 4 June 2025."
It means Australians paying $52 per month on the small Optus choice plus plan will now pay $55 per month.
Impacted customers will also get a monthly data increase of between 20GB and 40GB depending on the plan.

"Customers whose plans are changing will receive an email or SMS message explaining the changes," Speers added.
"Optus understands that many of our customers are coping with a range of increases in expenses and for customers in need, or who just have questions, our team is here to help."
