Karen Hauer has been inundated with messages from fans as she admitted to being 'quietly proud' while celebrating her own special occasion.

The Strictly Come Dancing star was recently celebrating her 43rd birthday, which came after wrapping up her huge joint headline tour with her co-star and friend Gorka Marquez.

Taking to Instagram, the dancer shared a number of pictures, including a smiling selfie and photos which seemingly showed how she spent her day with her loved ones in the spring sunshine.

Alongside the post, Karen wrote in view of her followers: "43. Still learning, still laughing, still forgetting what I walked into the room for [crying laughing emoji].

"But I’m here—at ease, content, full of love, and quietly proud of how far I’ve come. Thank you for my birthday wishes. Sending a big hug to you all [heart emojis]. #birthdaygirl #43."

And the birthday wishes quickly came flooding in. Gorka was among the first to respond as he wrote in the comments section: "HBD CHAMITA." Neil Jones commented: "Happy Birthday to my slightly older sister." Jowita Przystal said: "Happy Birthday Chama."

As mentioned, it comes after Karen was seen touring the country with Gorka. The duo are dance partners away from the BBC One dance contest's ballroom. It was earlier this year that the pair returned to the stage together following a break from their Firedance shows last year after two years of touring together in a row.

Their first show in February at the Perth Concert Hall was to a rapturous reception, marking the highly anticipated start of their biggest-ever UK tour, with a whopping 41 dates.

The fabulous show's aim was to transport audiences through the decades in an electrifying celebration of iconic dance styles, immersive storytelling, and stunning choreography, all set against the vibrant backdrop of the roaring 1920s through to the disco era of the 1970s.

But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end and Gorka and Karen wrapped up their epic tour with an amazing milestone as they performed their Speakeasy show on a West End stage.

Following their final show, Gorka was quick to reshare the videos of support from his and Karen's Strictly co-stars who were in the audience to watch the pair.

They included Nadiya Bychkova who seemingly captured an emotional on-stage moment for Gorka and Karen as they took in the rapturous reception.

Alongside the post, Nadiya wrote: "What a special moment [face holding back tears emoji]." She shared a secondary post, alongside which she wrote: "So much talent on one stage [face holding back tears emoji]. What a night. Congratulations @karenhauer @gorka_marquez @speakeasytheshow cast and everyone involved."

Jowita Przystal also seemed emotional as she shared alongside her own clip of the show: "Loved every second of that show! Goosebumps!!!! Well done to all the cast. @karenhauer @gorka_marquez you two are just another level... [face holding back tears and heart emojis]. And amore @arduinobertoncello I'm so proud of you, your choreography was outstanding! Masterpiece!"
