A surveyor is preparing to run the London Marathon in memory of his dad.
Matt Allibone, director at Whitefox Chartered Surveyors, will take on the TCS London Marathon on Sunday, April 27, in tribute to his father Terry Allibone, who died from cancer in October 2024.
Matt is raising money for Hospice UK, a cause dear to him as Terry received vital care from the Lewis-Manning Hospice Care team and Macmillan Unit in Christchurch.
Matt said: "Hospices are selfless places.
"They give everything without expecting anything in return.

"They help people live and die well—with compassion, care and dignity—and they also provide invaluable support to families, including bereavement counselling."
Whitefox Chartered Surveyors has supported hospice care for many years, particularly Julia’s House Hospice in Dorset, but Matt felt fundraising for a national cause was fitting for this challenge.
He said: "I enjoy running and I’ve always dreamed of doing the London Marathon.
"Running it in memory of my dad just makes sense."
Matt, who is in the taper phase of his training, has a target time of three hours 15 minutes, but says he will be happy with anything under three hours 30.
He has a fundraising goal of £2,500 and has already raised £1,800.
