Angellica Bell's pal reveals why she didn't address Martin Lewis Money Show exit on Big Brother
Celebrity Big Brother's Angellica Bell was suddenly axed from The Martin Lewis Money Show in 2023 after six years and fans had been waiting to hear what happened before the presenter was sent packing from the Big Brother house last night.
Angellica Bell's sudden departure from ITV's The Martin Lewis Money Show has been the subject of much speculation, with her friend and former CBBC co-host Andrew Hayden-Smith shedding light on why she's remained silent about the situation. Bell, 49, has enjoyed a successful 25-year career spanning children's TV and daytime shows but was unexpectedly dropped from the popular show in 2023 following a six-year stint - yet she has not addressed her exit during her time on Celebrity Big Brother.
Angellica was reportedly axed by producers at the time who then replaced her with Jeanette Kwakye, a former Olympian and broadcaster, to fill her role. After joining the show in 2017, Angellica transitioned to Channel 5 to present the newly-titled version of The Gadget Show – Shop Smart, Save Money, the M.E.N reports.
According to sources, a 'conflict of interest' arose due to the channel move, leading to her swift removal from the ITV show. Intrigue regarding her silence increased when Angellica's husband Michael Underwood suggested that she may eventually discuss the incident inside the Celebrity Big Brother house, responding to a fan's inquiry on TikTok.
Speaking to the Mirror, Angellica's former co-host Andrew remarked that although Angellica is open to discussing her exit from the Martin Lewis Money Show, it simply might not have been mentioned yet.
He said: "Maybe, if it comes up. I did ask her if she would address it, and she said 'yeah, if it comes up in conversation'. It happened, you know?"
ITV stated at the time: "Angellica is not working on the Martin Lewis Money Show Live, however, the relationship with her remains amicable and we are working with her on other forthcoming programmes."
However, these comments came prior to Tuesday night's eviction, which saw Angellica being the first celeb of the evening to be sent packing from the Celebrity Big Brother house in a brutal triple eviction.
Angela was axed yesterday evening, which was the first time she found herself facing the public vote.
She was followed by Ella Rae Wise from TOWIE and EastEnders' Patsy Palmer in the first triple axe of this series.
Love Island's Chris Hughes and Drag Race star Danny Beard also found themselves facing the public vote after a tense round of face-to-face nominations.
The speculation surrounding her exit comes after finances expert Martin Lewis has hit headlines after revealing that he turned down a spot on the BBC Celebrity Traitors line up.
The Record confirmed the full line up of stars in the series which has already commenced filming.
Iconic host Claudia Winkleman is set to return as a series of famous faces are preparing to make their debut in the grand Scottish castle including comedian Alan Carr and Scots actor Mark Bonnar.
Lewis revealed that he was 'gutted' to have turned down the call-up but had one very good reason for rejecting the show.
Taking to X on Tuesday evening, he said: "I'm no traitor (sadly). I've got FOMO looking at the Celebrity Traitors line up. I was asked, but said no as I couldn't commit the time.
"I hadn't watched it then (but watched the last series after that and loved it) so now feel a little gutted (though I still don't have the time)."
