Leeds United 'consider' brutal Daniel Farke sacking as Rangers prospective owners show ruthless streak
The German led the Yorkshire giants to the Premier League just days ago
Rangers’ prospective owners are reportedly about to show their ruthless streak by sacking Daniel Farke - just days after he led them back to the Premier League promised land.
The German celebrated a return to England’s top flight with a 6-0 romp against Stoke City on Easter Monday, with promotion confirmed after Burnley defeated Sheffield United to join them.
Now the Daily Mail are reporting that, despite that success, the club’s hierarchy could pull the trigger on former Norwich City boss Farke.
49ers Enterprises took control of Leeds in the summer of 2023 and the Elland Road chairman Paraag Marathe is president of San Francisco 49ers' business wing who are on the verge of taking control at Ibrox.
The report states that Leeds United “are considering making a stunning managerial change” but add that “no final decision has been made – and there is an awareness that such a controversial move could well backfire - not least with the club’s supporters”.
If the axe did fall then on 48-year-old Farke then it would fuel speculation that he could be set for a move to Rangers with the Light Blues on the hunt for a manager.
The German reportedly held talks with Celtic two years ago when the Hoops were on the hunt for a replacement for Ange Postecolgou, before Brendan Rodgers was appointed.
