NANAIMO — The region’s streak of lotto luck appears to be continuing.
A ticket purchased in Nanoose Bay won $500,000 on the Saturday, April 26 Lotto 6/49 draw, by matching all four numbers in the EXTRA prize.
The winner has a year to collect their prize.
Meanwhile, a Nanaimo man is over $200,000 richer after an early April win on a BCLC contest run at Casino Nanaimo.
Gregory Seward took home $213,639.30 through the ‘Jack Up The Jackpot’ contest and learned about the win while at home with his daughter.
“I couldn’t believe it, I just couldn’t. I was so shocked. [My daughter] was floored and said that she needed to pinch herself,” Seward said of the win.
Seward plans on purchasing a new Yukon SUV and splurging on a trip to Disneyland with his grandchildren.
“I’m still in awe. I’m someone who really enjoys life, and this win just made everything even better,” Seward said.
