New Movies & Shows To Stream This Weekend:
Tina Fey, Will Forte, Steve Carell, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Colman Domingo, Marco Calvani, and Erika Henningsen are all taking their talents to Netflix in comedy miniseries The Four Seasons, which dropped all eight of its episodes on Thursday. On Prime Video, the story of the 2018 film A Simple Favor gets a thrilling second chapter as Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively, and Henry Golding return for the dark comedy mystery film Another Simple Favor. Meanwhile, Disney+ is saying “May the Fourth be with you” as it celebrates Star Wars Day with the release of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, a new animated miniseries that delves into the galaxy’s criminal underworld.
New on Netflix May 1: The Four Seasons
Incredible comedic minds and acting stars are coming together to bring you this Netflix Original adaptation of Alan Alda’s 1981 film of the same name. The Four Seasons follows three couples (Tina Fey, Will Forte, Steve Carell, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Colman Domingo, and Marco Calvani) and longtime best friends who enjoy going on quarterly vacations together. But when one couple reveals that they are splitting up, their trips are completely upended, creating new complications and changes within the entire group’s dynamics and lives.
New on Prime Video May 1: Another Simple Favor
Although A Simple Favor ended with charming con-artist Emily Nelson (Blake Lively) getting sentenced to 20 years in prison for murdering her own father and sister, she manages to finagle her way to freedom and even more mayhem in Another Simple Favor. This sequel film sees author Stephanie Smothers (Anna Kendrick) pulled back into Emily’s orbit when she’s invited to Emily’s extravagant wedding to a wealthy Italian businessman on the island of Capri. But where Emily goes, trouble tends to follow, as the wedding is interrupted by murder, betrayal, and new twists you won’t want to miss.
New on Disney+ May 4: Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld
Over the course of six episodes, you can witness exhilarating tales revolving around two of the galaxy’s most dangerous outlaws. Asajj Ventress (Nika Futterman) takes the chance to repent from her old life as a skilled assassin and bounty hunter as she goes on the run with a new ally. Then there’s ruthless bounty hunter and outlaw Cad Bane (Corey Burton), who comes face-to-face with his own past when he confronts an old friend-turned-Marshal who is now on the other side of the law. Take a journey to a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away from the comforts of home with this new series as soon as it drops all of its episodes on May 4.
