The death occurred unexpectedly in New York on Thursday, April 24, 2025 of Elizabeth Rose (Eilish) Smith, New York and formerly of Drumury, Moyne, Co Longford
Predeceased by her father John. Survived by her husband Tommy, son Michael Patrick and Daughter in Law Haley, grandkids Maximus and Ryan Agnes, her mother Rose, her brothers and sisters Anne, Pauline, Bridie, Berni, James, Sean and Michael, Brothers in law and Sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral Mass at 2pm on Monday, May 5 in St Francis Xavier Church, Moyne, Co. Longford N39 P462 and interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. No flowers please - Donations in lieu to St Christopher's Longford to family members or c/o the undertaker.
Anna Mai Fitzsimons (née Reilly), 54 Villa Park Avenue, Navan Road, Dublin, D07 N9P6 / Ballinamuck, Longford
The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the exceptional care of the staff of St. Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown on Thursday, May 1, 2025 of Anna Mai Fitzsimons (née Reilly) 54 Villa Park Avenue, Navan Road, Dublin 7 and formerly Tawnagh, Ballinamuck, Co. Longford.
Predeceased by her parents Mary-Ann and Michael-Mel Reilly and Joseph Fitzsimons. Anna Mai will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her loving husband Tommy, daughter Laura, sons Kevin and Colin, son-in-law Richard, daughters-in-law Siobhan and Catherine, cherished grandchildren Finn, Cillian, Ben, Seán and Rían, brother Pat, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, many good friends and neighbours. May She Rest In Peace.
Reposing at home in 54 Villa Park, Navan Road, Dublin 7 (Eircode D07 N9P6) on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 from 4pm until 8pm. Then reposing in Tawnagh, Ballinamuck, Co Longford (Eircode N39 V2X8) on Sunday, May 4 from 4pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, May 5 in St Patrick's Church, Ballinamuck at 12 noon, followed by burial in Ballinamuck new Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired to St. Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown, care of Dillon & Shepherd Funeral Directors or any family member. House private Monday morning, May 5 please.
Bridie Hopkins (née Doyle), Westbrook, Ballymoneen Road, Knocknacarra, Galway / Longford Town, Longford
The recent death occurred peacefully surrounded by love after a long illness at home with her devoted husband Tony and family by her side on Thursday, May 1, 2025 of Bridie Hopkins (née Doyle), Westbrook, Ballymoneen Road, Knocknacarra, Galway / Longford Town, Longford.
Deeply mourned by her sons and daughter, Johnny (England), Anthony (Australia) and Ruth (England), daughter-in-law Nayha, son-in-law Aiden, sisters Mary and Bernie, brother Kevin, treasured grandchildren Ciara, Shane and Aoife O’Donnell, Ethan, Julia and Leah, nephews and nieces Michael, Caitriona, Kevin, Deirdre and Eugene, sisters-in-law Margaret Cassidy and Mary Dooley, the extended Hopkins family, relatives and friends in particular by her long time carers Charlene and Doch, their colleagues, neighbours and friends.

Removal from her home on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5 at 4pm to arrive at St Anthony’s Room within the Church of St John the Apostle, Knocknacarra for Reposing therein from 4.30pm. Removal into the Church at 6pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Bridie on Tuesday, May 6 at 12 noon. Following Mass she will be laid to rest with Mary in the new cemetery. The recent death has occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Thomond Lodge Nursing Home, Ballymahon on Thursday, May 1, 2025 of John Findlay Mosstown, Kenagh, Co Longford and formerly Scotland and Surrey, England.
Beloved husband of Helen (nee Macken), much loved Father to Nicholas and Stephanie and Grandfather to Alexander and Aibhilín. Sadly missed by his loving wife, son and daughter, grandchildren, son-in-law Mick, daughter-in-law, Marie brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours.
Removal to arrive at St Matthew’s Church, Ballymahon on Thursday, May 8 at 7pm. Funeral mass on Friday, May 9 at 11am followed by burial in Shrule Cemetery.

The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Moycullen Nursing Home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 of John (Sean) Flynn Corrib Park, Newcastle, Galway/ Longford town, Co Longford.
Beloved husband of Ellen and much loved father of Paul, Owen, Martin and Naomi. Deeply mourned and sadly missed by his wife, daughter and sons and their partners, his adored grandchildren Kevin, Mandy, Jamie, Christopher, Adam and Eric, the extended Flynn and Clabby family, neighbours, friends and his former colleagues in the Irish Defence Forces. The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of Innis Ree Nursing Home, Lanesboro, Co Longford on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 of Veronica McCallum (nee Kelly) No 6 Park Villas, Longford town, Co Longford.
Predeceased by her parents John and Bridget and her brother Jimmy. Veronica will be sadly missed by her family, her loving daughter Marie, son-in-law Mark, adored grandchildren Zara, Mark, Hayley and Ruby, her dear brother John, relatives, neighbours and friends. Seán is predeceased by his loving wife, Betty Sherwin (née Davis),his sister Margaret,her husband Bernie and his recently deceased Cousin Pat (nee Dooner).Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children John, Liz and Marc, and their spouses Caríosa, Tom and Dorcas, his grandchildren Seán, Tom and David, his brother Kevin and sister-in-law Catherine, his nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.
