UPDATE: Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that the Hyde incident was not connected to any counter terrorism raids

Police have continued their investigation at a house in Rochdale following a counter-terrorism raid at the weekend.

Five men were arrested on Saturday, including the three arrested in Manchester, Rochdale and Stockport as well as one each in Swindon and London.

The four suspects held on suspicion of preparation of a terrorist act remain in police custody for questioning, with the magistrates today granting detectives warrants of further detention allowing all four - all Iranian nationals - to be held until May 10.

The fifth man, aged 24, who was held under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act in the 'Manchester area' was released on bail, said the Met Police.

Soldiers from the elite SAS are understood to have assisted with the three arrests in Greater Manchester on Saturday.
