In just a few weeks after announcing the launch of its RTX 5060 family of graphics cards, NVIDIA has now confirmed that its entry-level RTX 5060 GPU will hit the shelves later this month on May 19. This is the $299 graphics card that was announced alongside the two RTX 5060 Ti models that went on sale last month and now available at various retailers like Amazon. The RTX 5060 will go on sale on May 19 and will be available to buy from retail partners starting at 12PM ET. Head below for more details.
The RTX 5060, in case you don’t know, is the most affordable GPU in NVIDIA’s latest RTX 50-series. With a retail price of $299, this particular model is perfect for folks looking to put together an entry-level gaming PC. Despite its relatively affordable price tag, though, the RTX 5060 has GDDR7 memory, supports DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, and more. It even gets the latest ray tracing and tensor cores for a reliable performance.
It comes with 3,840 CUDA cores and uses the same 128-bit bus as the other models in the RTX 5060 family, though, it’s worth noting that this GPU only comes with 8GB of VRAM. It’s not necessarily a deal-breaker, but newer games may demand more graphics memory for ideal performance. You can work your way around that with the help of DLSS 4 upscaling and Multi Frame Generation, but it remains to be seen just how well this model will handle modern titles.
In addition to the new GPU, NVIDIA also says the latest RTX 5060 laptops will go on sale the same day. We expect a bunch of OEM partners to put their new machines up on sale across retailers, so keep your eyes peeled for new listings to go if you are in the market to buy a new gaming laptop. And for folks looking to build a new PC, here’s what the updated RTX 50-series graphics card lineup looks like right now with the arrival of the new 5060 models –
- RTX 5090 at $1,999
- RTX 5060 at $299
- RTX 5060 Ti 8GB at $379
