Traffic on the M5 was stopped for the second time in Devon today after a serious crash involving a motorcycle. Traffic was at a standstill between Exeter and Cullompton this morning, Wednesday, May 7.
National Highways has said: "Traffic has been STOPPED on the #M5 southbound in #Devon between J28 (Cullompton) and J29 (Exeter) due to a serious collision involving a motorcycle.
"Emergency services are working at the scene. More information to follow shortly. Thanks for your patience if you're held up".
The air ambulance landed at the scene of the bike crash. One witness said: "Currently in it ATM air ambulance has landed multiple emergency vehicles on scene could be a while."
There was an earlier incident between junction 28 and 27 where a vehicle flipped over. It is not thought that anyone suffered any injuries in the earlier collision.
All lanes were open again by 11.30am.

Two taken to hospital

Minor injuries have been reported to two people who are being taken to hospital to be checked over.
Emergency services attended.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:
We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorbike on the southbound carriageway of the M5 between junctions 28 and 29, near Cullompton at around 10.20am today, Wednesday 7 May.
The extent of any injuries is not clear.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, are at the scene.
The incident is ongoing.

Vehicle flips on M5
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:
We were called to reports of an overturned vehicle on the southbound carriageway of the M5 near Sampford Peverell at around 8.50am today, Wednesday 7 May.
No injuries have been reported.
Emergency services attended.
Lanes two and three were blocked for a time but have since reopened.
