Cisco College is hosting its first graduation ceremony in Abilene.

Since the Abilene campus was created in 2004, students have traveled to Cisco for their commencement ceremony. Now, Abilene students will mark their accomplishments right at home.

"This historic event celebrates not only the academic achievements of its students but also marks the 20th anniversary of the Cisco College Abilene campus and the institution’s 85th year of serving students across West Central Texas," the college said in a press release.

The graduation ceremony will honor 166 graduates from multiple programs including Health Sciences and Career & Technical programs.

The college is also recognizing 63 Dual Credit students who are graduating with a certificate or associate degree before completing high school. Three of these students are graduating from Holland Medical High School as part of the first Dual Credit Licensed Vocational Nursing Program through Cisco College.

These students are making history as the first to graduate from this unique partnership, which aims to meet local workforce needs while providing advanced educational pathways for high school students.

The graduation ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. May 12 at the Abilene Convention Center located at 1100 N. 6 St. in Abilene.
