In a late-night crackdown on Saturday, the Bopal police raided a techno music party held at Club O7 in Shela on the outskirts of the city and arrested nine individuals, six of whom were found in an inebriated condition.
Of the nine, one is a 23-year-old woman, and three were found in possession of liquor. The police also seized two luxury cars, including a BMW, three premium liquor bottles, a tin of beer, and five mobile phones.
Sources said soon after the raid, local police allegedly began receiving phone calls from influential individuals requesting the release of the detained accused, but cops proceeded with the arrest. According to police, the organiser had acquired prior permission to hold the party until midnight but it began at midnight and nearly 1,000 passes had been issued for the same. Around 200 guests were present when the raid took place.

Police raid
Inspector BT Gohil of Bopal Police Station said the event was organised by Hemal Dave on behalf of ATC Management, which had secured permission from the local police. During routine night patrolling, officers received a tip-off that the party was going on beyond permitted hours. Police raided the place with three teams; one cordoning off the hall of the club, another staying put at the entry gate, and a third in parking area in the basement.
“When we entered the premises, around 200 guests were present. We conducted breathalyser tests on approximately 60 to 70 of them, of which six were found to be drunk, while three were caught with alcohol stored in their vehicles. The three individuals were charged with possession of liquor,” Gohil said. “All nine were booked for violating the notification prohibiting music events beyond midnight. If it is found that the club management or staff colluded with the organisers, they too will face legal action.”
