Nominees
Rhett Cutcliff: Cutcliff is a junior Super Scholar at Pearl High School. He has demonstrated exceptional initiative, leadership and academic ambition. Cutcliff proposed and led Pearl High School’s first-ever entry into the prestigious NASA TechRise Student Challenge. He assembled and led a six-member team, secured an advisory teacher and charted a vision to use this opportunity to enhance STEM experiences at PHS. His goals include expanding lab opportunities, starting a STEM club and organizing the school’s first science fair in over 20 years. Out of more than 720 teams nationwide, Cutcliff’s team, The Pearl Propulsion Crew, was one of only 60 selected and is the first team ever from Mississippi to be chosen for the honor. Beyond academics, Cutcliff is also a dedicated member of the band leadership team, symphonic band, indoor percussion section, drumline, and madrigal singers. He exemplifies leadership, creativity and dedication in everything he does and is a true role model among his peers.
Lauren Daniels: Daniels, a senior at Germantown High School, is an exceptional student who is highly involved and active in her student body. During her four years at GHS, she has participated in advanced placement courses, dual enrollment courses, the GHS cheer team and the teaching program. Even though she is highly involved, she maintains straight A’s while also being a reliable, friendly face in the school. Just this month, she received Student of the Month for her senior class by always representing a shining example of what it means to be a good citizen and Germantown Maverick.
Kaylynn Hundley: Hundley is a senior at Murrah High School and a theater student in the APAC program. She is a member of Theatre Troupe 4909 and the winner of four Mississippi Thespian medals for her work in acting and costume design. Hundley participates in the Sound of Perfection Marching Band, Symphonic Band and Jazz Band. She has also served as the Vice-President of the Murrah Book Club for three years and Murrah's first-ever Crochet Club. She volunteered at an after-school club for three years where she developed a love for working with and tutoring children. Hundley aims to cultivate creativity and inspire living life to the fullest in herself and those around her. A Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy Scholar, Magnolia Literacy Project participant and AP Scholar Award recipient, Hundley plans to attend an out-of-state college and major in computer engineering while pursuing her passion for acting, theatrical arts and promoting self-expression with the hope to one day create her own nonprofit animal shelter.
Iesha Perkins: Perkins is senior at Provine High School. She is a very resilient young woman. Perkins is on the Spirit of Provine cheer team, and is a member of the National Honor Society, Bee the Difference mentoring program, the Zeta Phi Beta debutante program, the 210 Service Club and more. Perkins plans to attend the prestigious Tougaloo College to study biology and go to medical school to become a pediatrician.
Ean White: White is a freshman at Northwest Rankin High School. In addition to having a quirky and upbeat personality, White has made it his personal goal to join as many school clubs as possible during his freshman year in order to make friends and explore academically. He is an extremely talented artist and also has an interest in writing prose and poetry. Recently, White received a superior rating for his costume designs at the MS Thespians Conference. White is known by all his teachers and peers as a kind, respectful and resilient person.
