Artificial intelligence (AI) “will do to financial services what the internet has done to the retail industry”, according to Money Means founder Helena Wardle.

Speaking at The Lang Cat's 2025 Catwalk event yesterday (5 June), Wardle emphasised that AI will be a significant step in the growth of the advice sector, "just like how the internet helped grow the retail industry". She noted that technology is currently in a position where firms can utilise agentic AI. Wardle also said she finds it "infuriating" that there are barriers that result in data not being clear and "this is holding back innovation" in the sector.
