Uganda: Police have made progress in their investigations to solve the mystery behind the murder of the couple found dead in their home a few days after returning from Switzerland.

David Mutagaa, aged 69, and his 62-year-old wife Deborah Florence Mutagaa had reportedly returned home to retire after living abroad for 30 years.
However, their stay was short-lived when unknown assailants broke into their house and killed them on July 6.
New details have emerged, revealing the suspect behind the gruesome murders.

Police managed to extract an image of the suspect from CCTV footage obtained from the couple’s home.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson told Daily Monitor that the images were being analysed and processed by forensic experts in order to identify the suspect.
What happened at Mutagaa's home?
CCTV footage obtained from Mutagaa's home in Kampala, Uganda revealed that the killers entered the compound by jumping over the perimeter wall.
Police reported signs of forced entry into the master bedroom, as windows had been shattered and the roofing tampered with.
After committing the crime, the assailants exited the home through the main gate. Police further reported that the couple had suffered stab wounds, which led to their tragic deaths.

What did neighbours of Mutagaa couple say?
While conducting investigations into the killings, police recorded statements from neighbours who reported hearing unusual sounds on the day the Mutagaas were killed.
According to reports, the 69-year-old man had recently inherited his father’s property, a move that did not sit well with some of his family members.
As such, police are pursuing a possible lead that the family dispute may have something to do with the couple’s death.

Who killed couple found dead in their Kisii home?
In other tragic news, TUKO.co.ke reported that the lifeless bodies of a man and his wife were found inside their house in Nyambenoka village, Kisii county.
The woman, Alice Kwamboka, was reportedly killed by her husband, who set her on fire following a domestic dispute.
Upon realising what he had done, Alice’s husband also took his own life, leaving the villagers in shock.
