Simon Cowell is reportedly gearing up to host new TV talent shows aimed at discovering the next big girl and boy bands.

The music tycoon has allegedly completed filming for a new Netflix series titled "Simon Cowell: The Next Act," which will document the 65-year-old record producer's quest to unearth "the next global boy band sensation." Cowell, who previously propelled boy bands like One Direction to stardom, aims to duplicate this triumph in 2025.

The six-episode series is slated to premiere on the streaming platform in December, although an exact date has yet to be confirmed. Following this, it's reported that Simon will launch another brand-new talent show—this time, with the goal of finding the next major girl band.

During his tenure on The X Factor UK, he rocketed girl group Little Mix to fame and reportedly hopes to discover the next group of budding female pop stars to transform into a worldwide success.

An insider told The Sun, "There's a huge amount of excitement around the boyband search show dropping on Netflix, which is expected to drop later this year. So it makes sense to consider a sequel with a similar concept but looking for the female equivalent," reports the Mirror.

"And if anyone can do it, it's Simon. After all, through One Direction and Little Mix, he helped deliver two of the biggest pop acts of the last two decades," they added.

The sequel to the hit show hasn't been greenlit just yet, as Netflix reportedly won't commit to a second season before the first one premieres later this year. However, insiders believe Simon has it all but locked down. The Mirror UK has reached out to Simon's representatives for their input.

This news follows Simon's recent revelation about his choice of eyewear on set - and it turns out it's not just for style. The Britain's Got Talent judge disclosed, "I just found out, according to the internet, I have a 'mystery illness."

On Instagram, he addressed his followers' concerns, "For anyone concerned, I missed two auditions at the end of one day, two weeks ago, because I do get migraines after long days in the filming lights. PS. This is why I wear these glasses!"

Hopefully, Simon didn't face too many harsh lights while working on his new TV project.
