Tech Report: Intel layoffs, iOS 26 preview, Amazon scam alert
Intel has announced another major round of layoffs

(LILAMAX)- Intel has announced another major round of layoffs. The company now expects to end 2025 with approximately 75,000 core employees — a reduction of about 24,000 jobs.
According to The Verge, which cited Intel’s recent earnings call, company leaders admitted they had “over-invested in factories” before securing enough customer demand to justify the expansion.
Meanwhile, Apple is rolling out a first look at its next operating system: iOS 26. The public beta is now available for users with newer iPhones, giving them the chance to try out features ahead of the official launch this fall.
To access it, users must enroll on Apple’s website, then navigate to their Settings menu, tap Software Update, and select Beta Updates. Highlights of iOS 26 include a redesigned lock screen, a new clock display, and updated app icons.
Amazon is warning customers of a new scam that’s circulating by email. The fake message urges users to “cancel their Prime subscription or risk having it auto-renewed at an unexpected price.” If clicked, the link directs users to a fraudulent site aiming to steal Amazon logins and bank information.
To stay safe, Amazon advises users to skip any suspicious emails and instead log directly into their official Prime accounts to verify plan details and renewal dates.
And in social media news — before there was TikTok, there was Vine. Now, X (formerly Twitter) CEO Elon Musk says he wants to bring back the iconic six-second video platform — this time in “AI form.” No further details have been shared.
