Aston Villa team news vs Frankfurt as six absent for pre-season friendly

Aston Villa's team news for tonight's game against Eintracht Frankfurt has been confirmed

Unai Emery has named his Aston Villa starting XI to face Eintracht Frankfurt at Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville.

This is the first of three pre-season friendlies Villa will play in the United States, with matches against St. Louis and Nashville to follow next week.

Kick-off comes at 7pm out here in the States, which is midnight back in Birmingham.

Villa began their pre-season campaign with two defeats — first against Walsall at the Bescot Stadium, and then against Hansa Rostock in Germany.

Several first-team players are set to feature in pre-season for the first time tonight.

Emi Martinez is on the bench as new signing Marco Bizot starts in goal behind a defence of Matty Cash, Lamare Bogarde, Tyrone Mings and Lucas Digne.

Boubacar Kamara and Youri Tielemans are in midfield, while Donyell Malen, Emi Buendia and Jacob Ramsey support Ollie Watkins.

There is no Ross Barkley, Andres Garcia, Alex Moreno, Zepi Redmond, Leander Dendoncker or Lewis Dobbin in the squad this evening.

Villa starting XI vs Frankfurt: Bizot, Cash, Bogarde, Mings, Digne, Kamara, Tielemans, Malen, Buendia, Ramsey, Watkins.

Subs: Gauci, Martinez, Konsa, McGinn, Torres, Iling Junior, Maatsen, Onana, Rogers, Bailey, Rowe, Patterson, Jimoh-Aloba, Ozcan.
